To mods: I know that spills are not allowed, but I need help with one that happened a year ago. I think this may be for the worst (A new Logic board)

I have a Macbook Black 2.0GHz (got it for $50 ) And it has an issue where when I power it on, it stays on until the apple tone plays, then it clicks back off. I tried this a few times, and now it's to the point where it won't even turn on. The Magsafe adapter is Green, and the battery is not charging. Apple's diagnosis was that it needed a new Mobo, ($750 to fix) but they never looked at it. Once I looked at the charger and it was flashing red and green. Don't know what that means, but whatever.

Anyways, all help is greatly appreciated!

Edit: I talked to the guy, he spilled sweet tea on it and immediately took it apart and dried it. After it was dry he put it back together and it worked for about a week. Now it won't even turn on.

So considering it happened so long ago, the only things I know that work are the RAM and the mobo.

Edit 2: So I was playing with it and I noticed that the magsafe was on low green light. I unplugged it and plugged it back in a few times, and then it lit up green. I turned on the computer and it did the same thing it always does, but the magsafe started flashing red and green.

The mobo is bad. Trust me, I've seen plenty do this. You ought to be able to get it fixed with a used board for much less than $750 or risk having it cleaned and hope for the best.

Spills are perfectly allowed but new threads for them are not. There is a dedicated sticky thread in this forum, so called because spills are so common that it is stuck permanently to the top of the forum list. You should be posting this in there, but your query is answered now anyway.

Apple's techs didn't look at your laptop to diagnose it which bothers you so you're recourse is to have random people on the Internet diagnose it (also without looking at it).

Yes, but Apple's techs are not going to fix it. They would just replace the whole mobo.
