I use a 2010 Macbook Pro with 10.6.8 and connect it to an external monitor.
Recently, when I pull out the magsafe power connection on the macbook, the monitor turns off. It never used to do this. Any ideas? Maybe my power connection has a problem?

I would first suspect battery strength and/or System Preferences/Energy Saver settings.

Is it switching GPU when you go from mains to battery? Does the display work when you connect it up without the magsafe already connected?
