I've got a Performa which DID have a TV tuner card... until the aerial plug snapped off... I need a new tuner card, but I was wandering, will any one fit? - are they all the same standard size? And does anyone know if they'll work with the remote control? If any one knows where to get the same one it shipped with, this would be helpful. Thanks.

The Apple TV/Video card is a rare item, indeed. MacWorks had 'em by the carload at one time, but all that's left is PAL. Ebay has 'em but they're going for more than most machines that'll handle 'em are worth. I actually had a spare a while back, but I have no idea where I put it.

Could you tell me where the MacWorks web-site is, as I live in the UK and need a PAL card. If the shipping's not too expensive, this would be great.
Thanks,
Will

I believe the URL you're looking for is: http://www.macworks.com/
Then, enter "171" without the quotes in the Search field, and you should see the item you need as the only item in the results list.
For US$50, it seems to me to be a pretty good deal!
Good luck!

well, a few months ago i brought a refurb tv tuner, tv remote control, AND video card for my old Preforma 630CD at www.shrevesystems.com
for approx $74 w/ground shipping.
(they're in Louisiana so i didn't pay any sales tax)
...complete with instruction booklet and floppy software.
i also bought a refurb 2 Mb HPV video card for me old 6115CD for $99 from them.
sometimes U can find fair deals for older mac stuff from them.
they were selling extra tv-mac remote controls for ten bucks each!!
the setup works great; i watch the tv all the time,
and i actually transfered a little VCR video segment into a .mov file with the video card.
...pretty amazing for a 33Mhz puter with 20 Mb ram (ram doubled to 40) and 260 Mb drive.
i noticed refurbmadness.com is selling the tv and video cards but separately for about $40 each,
and the remotes were going for $29 (!!)

But mac_bystander, a 6115CD is a 60MHz PPC, not 33MHz!?

as mac_bystander installed the tv tuner and video cards in a performa 630CD and not the 6115CD i assume he/she captured the video on this (the 630) which is a 33Mhz machine http://www.lowendmac.com/quadra/q630.shtml
btw, www.lowendmac.com is great for looking up specs!
