I found a good deal on an old PowerMac G3 All-In-One 266. It only has 2MB VRAM which I know I can upgrade to 6MB. My question is if I buy a PCI based ATI Radeon (like the 7000) will it increase the VRAM of my system like a normal system or would it only effect an external monitor I had hooked up to it. Also how would mirroring/mulitple desktops work with such a configuration? I am not very familiar with the old AIO style Macs.
Hey dwishbone,
Unfortunately, it will only effect your external monitor (unless you found a way to bridge or extend your internal monitor connection to the external monitor connection on the Radeon 7000 (there might be someway to internally bridge, but I am not familiar with that).
good luck!
