We will be purchasing some internal or external SCSI CD-ROM drives for our older MACs.

I bought a 4x int. matsushita drive off of ebay a while ago for $19. That may be as well as you can do price-wise, if that's fast enough. For quantities, I'd hit the refurb sites or email ebay sellers and see if you can strike a deal.

After posting we found out that even a 2X CD-ROM drive will be more than adequate for our needs!

Would appreciate any pointers for surplus, refurb, auction... sites that would have older drives.

PS also any tips on protecting yourself when buying from EBAY and other auction sites. Thanks!
