I have an old Power PC PowerTower 225 that I want to donate to some folks I just met in Tanzania. Their electricity is 220 rather than 110. I recall that the Powerbook I used iN england was compatable with both. Does anyboy know about the Power PC? How can I check?

One more question: If you were sending a donated Mac to a third-world country for use by folks without a lot of computer experience, what would you make sure to include?

For example, is a slow modem more likely to work on their phone lines than a fast one? What good public domain or shareware software would you include? And so on ...

Check around the power plug on the back of the computer. Look for a switch.

I would look for a modem good at keeping a noisey connection open. Maybe 33.6 as a max speed.
