Our nonprofit recently received a Quadra 650.

Is it possible to use OS 7.5.3 for the Internet?

Also any tips on opening the case (it is the
same as these Mac models: IIvi, IIvx, Performa 600, and Centris 650).

yes you can use 7.5.3 to access the 'net, i did with a 6200 back when... and it might be a good idea to try the iCab browser, available for 68k Macs: www.icab.de

the Quadra 650 is a rocksolid Mac, it was used just a very few years ago by the U2 tour... they used two of them (one for backup) to drive their videos and other duties if i remember correctly. the case is similar if not exact to the Centris 650 i believe.

your internet experience with the Quadra 650 will depend on the amount of RAM installed rather than processor speed. With 16 MB of RAM (i.e. physical RAM) or more, it will be not too bad. Do not rely on Virtual RAM or RAM Doubler, if you want good performance.

In addition to what wlonh says, the modem you use will be important, too. Try to get a fast, good one (e.g. Global Village Teleport 33.6 or 56k).
