My friends Power mac 8500/150/G3400 won't start up. He had it running yesterday and today it won't start up. He get's the chime but nothing else. Please help

Probably...but I'm surprised at how fast some of the batteries run out. I still have the IIvx from '93 and the battery in that thing is still going...

I guess battery is the first thing to try...

hey it happens, not all batteries are created equally even if from the very same manufacturer... so many variables here, like how long had the battery been sitting in stock before being put in a Mac and how was the battery stored at the manufacturer's warehouse, and hey it could have been a lemon battery (excuse the small joke) right off the assembly line
