Any opinions out there about whether or not these are good machines? Are they good for upgrades or will they be unsupported? Will OSX run on these puppies?

Get one only if you need six PCI slots.

You have to pay for support, Mac OS 8.5 and later are unsupported by Apple (Mac OS X may work but you won't get any support). Upgrades do work but you will likely lose any support you would have to pay for, not to mention that they will likely make the system unstable.

I have a Power Tower Pro 200, owned it since 1996, it's been a great box running 8.5 with 208MB RAM.

Just installed a Newer Tech 500/250 G3 upgrade card and it really screams, don't know why I waited so long to upgrade.

One small problem, when printing as the print job is spooling, the cursor moves slow and jittery until the job starts printing in the printer. I don't know what causes this to happen, I have been told to remove the old L2 back side cashe from the mother borad.
