i wonder how well it would hold up against a G4

Does anybody know what happened to the 68060? How far did/does that scale?
And what was the difference betweeen 040 and the 060?

Like I said to you on AIM, it's the fact that a chip that was developed YEARS ago has heavily surpassed their current offerings.

I'm gunna try and find more information about the 68040's current state.

Yeah, that's right, the chip that ran the Quadra can really, secretly, run at 2 GHz.

or maybe the fact that the article was published on April 1 has something to do with it. Hmm... I wonder what that could mean...
