third party graphics card is the only thing I can think of...For some reason, I have a $250(at the time) NuBus Graphics Accelerator in my IIvx, which has 4 MB of VRAM on it...

ok. thanks...i was thinking about some trick to bypass Q950 limitations...but seems there's no way.
do you still have that graphic card? do you mean you want to sell it?

there are lots of places still selling NuBus graphics cards. Macresq.com (now eresq.com) and powermax.com are two places that come to mind. I believe Shrevesystems.com also has a few.
