Hey everyone. I have a powermac 5500 which has 128 MB RAM, a Crescendo G3 Card, USB PCI Card and a 2GB Hard drive running Mac OS 9.1. It crushed the other night as I was scanning my wedding pictures. After a reboot, the floppy with the question mark appeared and I thought "
no problem - I will just grap the Mac OS 9 CD and reboot from that." After rebooting the Mac and holding down the "c" key, the Mac will still not boot up instead the CD tray opens up - ejecting the Mac OS 9 CD. I have tried reseting the motherboard, disconnection all peripherals (USB and SCSI) with no luck. Is my freind finally dead. Surely not as I will have to get a Wintel box other wise as they seem cheaper.
Thanks all
