I recently bought a CD Drive from Pioneer for my old 6100/60. The drive was intended for PC's, but I could get it to work by changing some numbers in the Apple CD/DVD driver. I'm pretty satisfied with it except that I can't get the sound to work through my computer. The salesman told me that the sound was sent through the scsi cable on Macs, but I don't think he's right. Do I have to connect the drive to my motherboard with the little cable that came with it? And if I have to, where do I have to plug it?

That salesman should be fired! Does it not annoy you when non Mac-fluent salespeople give you misinformation. Anyways, on the CD-ROM drive, there should be a little 4 pronged plug next to the 50 pronged SCSI plug. Your Mac's motherboard should have a cable that fits right in there. Hook up the CD-ROM drive to the SCSI and the 4 progned (Audio) plug and you should be on your way.
