My mom has a performa with a damaged system folder. I want to install a new one but I don't think her performa has enough RAM to run 8.5. I want to reinstall system 7 but she can't find a start up disk or a software restore disk. Did it come with one?

Yup, it sure did. My old Performa 575 came with a set of CDs in soft plastic cases that were joined into a book. The restore CD itself was black with red type and said the name of the machine on the front. Not much consolation if you can't find it, but they do exist.
