Okay,

I've got a bit of a tachnical puzzle I need help solving. I have a 6500 to which I'd like to add a CD-RW. I have a nice IDE drive that would fit the bill, but the original CD-ROM and the expansion bay both sport SCSI cables. Is there any way to connect an IDE CD-RW to this machine? I have investigated the various PCI ATA controller cards (UltraTek, Tempo, etc.) but all of them reference Hard Drives (and the 6500 already has an EIDE HD) rather than media drives. Any ideas, folks?

It's a fantastic article and it really clarifies some of the hard drive terminology that gets bandied about, but it doesn't cover media drives. Still, thanks for the post!
