Thanks to eBay, I ended up with a 604e processor card, pulled from a Power Center Pro clone. It's a 210/ 60 card.( I know it's a 210 mhz card/chip speed, and I assume the 60 is the Bus speed). I want to put this in my Mac 7600 , currently running a 132 mhz Apple factory processor. I have no documentation on the "new" card , or any tech information on this procedure. I want to be sure before I try it, and would like to hear from an expert.

Can I put the non-Apple 210 mhz 604e daughter card straight into my Mac 7600 without problems ? Do I need a driver or other software?
Thanks

I think daughtercards are fairly standard. Try putting it in the slot in your 7600, if it fits, most likely it will work. Try booting it up with it installed. The worst case scenario is that the machine simply doesn't boot, in this case, put the old card back in and you should be fine.
I don't think you need any drivers...

In my Umax J700, I've run 120 (apple) and 150 (powercomputing) processor cards. No, it takes no software, no nothing on the software side. Crack that case, gently remove your old processor (yoink), firmly seat the new card (push), and start 'er up. If it doesn't work, make sure the card is firmly seated.
If you don't like it, mebbe can I buy it off you? I'm darn tired of this 120..

Hey DewD,
Great machine! I've had my 7600 for over 4 yrs. Once you've gone through the motions of swapping slow with not so slow cards, save a few pecos and get yourself a G3 upgrade card. Mine is cooking alone with a XLR8 G3 400Mhz. Newer Technology makes a great board too, As simple to install as you're doing now.
Enjoy!
