I don't know of a utility that does this. You can always connect the mac to a tape recorder, boot, record the sound, and play it back while recording on the mac...

Get a prog that rips the ROM like Copy ROM, then see if you can use Can Opener or whatever it is...
I've never used the app, so don't know if it needs to have SND resources in order to extract, but its worth a try, no?

I've never been able to find the startup chime in the ROM file, but it should be possible.
I'd go for the tape recorder.

Better bang your head on walls! You'll get nowhere trying to read the rom. The only way is to record the sound. Don't use tape, try to record it using another computer, it'll be far better quality. OR try to contact an Apple engineer, but that's far fetched!

At one time, Apple published a FileMaker based reference to all previous and current models. Included were sound files of the startup chords for each computer. They may still offer this (I downloaded it several years ago).
Here's the link. This is from 1998, so it won't help on the latest hardware.
