Just posting to say I'm back on the team after a couple of months away, not up to full steam yet but it's good to be back helping our cause.

Does anyone fancy a competition again? The last one really seemed to get the numbers crunching (well it brought enola on board big time ).

Hey, welcome back. I noticed you started posting numbers again. jbcool seems to have rejoined the fray as well.

I'd enjoy watching a competition instead of participating in one this time. Having spent the better part of the last 3 or 4 months trying to keep my crew motivated to still crunch for me at least through the CASP prediction season I'm a bit burnt out. Also, my brother got into a little trouble over this a month or so back so the bulk of what power I had left after the first competition is now gone.

I think another competition would be fun. We've got quite a few folks generating some good numbers. But perhaps it's best to wait until the CASP prediction season is over, which is end of this month I think. Then folks don't have to deal with the constant protein changes.

welcome back dalex! oh - and if you haven't done so already, there's a tweak available (if you run the setup again, it'll ask you) to enable additional ram to be used (and it will double the speed). Just add -rt to your foldit script. If you need more help, just ask!

the competition - it sounds like fun taking a look at the tables for the last 24 hours, Mikkyo, CobraMac and jbcool really have had their pedal to the metal, so to speak

I have a week more of the clone army (30 P3 800s with at least 256MB of RAM in all them) at my disposal, then I'm gonna lose them all for at least a week... after that... who knows?

want to see if I can crack 25 mil before I lose them again...

game on

My gawd, that is scary! Makes my two XP's seem a bit poor (My G4 should be free to crunch soon)

enola: good point about the race and the end of CASP, after that would be good if anyone else fancies it.

Welcome back DAlex it is good to have you back.

Looks like someone noticed I brought most of the farm back. I just could not pass up the chance to get caught back up with Slipjack after letting him get so far ahead while I was trying to generate some activity over at the F@H project. My little home grown crop is not much threat against the big guns.

Enola you can't win every competition and you are a great sport.
I'm sorry to hear that you brother go in trouble. He sure was a great help to the team and I enjoyed losing the competition.

I have installed all new clients and the are all updating fine. I'm in for the competition anytime everyone else is ready.
Tag ur it.

currently 27x PIII-866's, 5x P3-800's, 1x AthonXP 1.67GHz and a G4(?). All with 256MB+ RAM and all with '-rt'. Go go go!
Onwards to 25Million and beyond!

PS. Any linux bashing sees the clone army defect to the Knights! (j/k!)
640kB should be enough for anyone - Bill Gates.
