I'm curious as to what clients people run, and also why.
Why do some people run the screensaver, mostly

Who needs a screen saver when you have an LCD? OS X client with the -verbose tag to keep things interesting.

OS X CLI. If there's a CLI version of the client available for your platform, it should be used. The GUI version for OS X is roughly twice as slow as the CLI version.
