Our crunch rate has been increasing, and our avg rate (used for Ranks projections) is lagging. Correcting for that changes the picture just a bit.

The Forecast
24 MacAddict - 116K ahead, outcrunched by a nose. Intercept: don't hold your breath
25 Team MacOSX - 115K ahead, outcrunching us by 630/day not yet
...
37 Macrumors - 12K ahead, outcrunched by 450/day. Intercept: 26.6 days
38 Tweakers Australia - 10.5K ahead, outcrunched by 620/day. Intercept: 16.9 days
39 LWD - 7.4K ahead, outcrunching us by about 200/day. Intercept: maybe later
40 Team MacNN
41 MSU_ACM - 1.4K behind, outcrunching us by 1100/day. Intercept: 30 hours
42 Russia - 2.3K behind, outcrunched by 90/day. not this time
43 Team PimpRig - 3.0K behind, outcrunched by 60/day. you had your chance
44 OcUK - 3.1K behind, outcrunched by 960/day. bye, bye
45 Macphilez - 4.8K behind, outcrunched by 930/day. gone
...
49 MacCentral - 17K behind, outcrunched by 680/day. forget it, you're staying down there
...
53 Uni of Hawaii - 22.7K behind, outcrunching us by 260/day. Intercept: 87 days

Today's Outlook
Clear weather, the problems are mostly blowing away. Our position as the #4 Mac team is solid, with #3 less than a month away when MacRumors goes down. Of those behind us, only MSU_ACM is worthy of concern. We can't do anything about them without doubling our production. Uni of Hawaii will not catch us soon, if ever.

We are actually outcrunching MacAddict, but not by a large margin. That should be fixed. LWD is tantalizingly within range, we could bag them with a bit more power. Tweakers Australia is sinking fast. The Russians and PimpRig got close, but we are pulling away from both. Better luck next time.

Precipitation is in the forecast for several other teams.

Sounds like we should pay the Macrumor's forum a visit. Let them know its time to invest in good raingear.

MacRumors DC forum is here. The thread to check is the "Folding ranking..." thread.

They have been getting a little worried about us.

Bring it on my little MAC friends.

I'd pay big money to see ya pass us. As an incentive......here's 1/2 now (((((flip's .50 cents to reader50)))).
The other half will come when you pass us.

The Forecast
35 Team Alberta - 20K ahead, outcrunched by 620/day Intercept: 32 days
36 Mods4Me - 18.7K ahead, outcrunched by 480/day Intercept: 39 days
37 Macrumors - 11.5K ahead, outcrunched by 420/day. Intercept: 27.5 days
38 Tweakers Australia - 9.8K ahead, outcrunched by 620/day. Intercept: 15.7 days
39 LWD - 7.35K ahead, outcrunching us by about 150/day. More Power Needed
40 Team MacNN
41 MSU_ACM - 370 behind, outcrunching us by 1100/day. Intercept: 7 hours
42 Russia - 2.5K behind, outcrunched by 80/day.
43 Team PimpRig - 3.1K behind, outcrunched by 220/day.
...
53 Uni of Hawaii - 23K behind, outcrunching us by 290/day. Intercept: 79 days

Today's Outlook
Lots of sunshine, with one local disturbance and a small cloud on the horizon. MSU_ACM is almost past, we'll pay them back someday. Uni of Hawaii remains months away.

We outcrunched LWD today, nice going! They are still getting away based on weekly average, but we'll see. Taunters can visit their Fold forum here. Tweakers Australia is practically calling for us, their forum is here. They do not seem to have noticed us yet.

Light rain is following LWD closely, and a growing storm system is building near the next four teams.

Shall we make a Power Run in Folding@home? It would have three targets:
  1. Become the #1 Mac team.
  2. Leash the dogs.
  3. Stomp everyone else in sight.
Our production has more than tripled since LWD stopped by. Why not make it a formal Power Run? Things have been too quiet around here.

The Polls are open.

5K/day sustained for 30 days and a recruiting run to try and make a decent amount of that new blood?

I'm tempted to say ignore seti, ignore rc5 (are we even paying attention to it), find the 3 or 4 people on ubero and get them off it, I'm guessing d2ol is ignored, and focus on a big run in f@h, and then if/when they reset the DF stats we push in that to get up in the ranks hard and fast.
Opinions?

Sounds like a plan. RC5 is really not doing anything. Now that most the bugs are worked out of gromacs, we will hopefully see a Mac port of that before long. Gromacs likes Altivec!!!

Some folks will never give up SETI, but that is fine. I'll be able to increase power eventually, but just not yet.

37 Macrumors - 11.2K ahead, outcrunched by 480/day. Intercept: 23.1 days

...
53 Uni of Hawaii - 24K behind, outcrunching us by 190/day. Intercept: 128 days

Today's Outlook
The local disturbance got past (darn it), while the small cloud on the horizon has gotten smaller. Our production has gone up again, this has improved nearly all figures.

We outcrunched everyone nearby today except LWD and MSU_ACM. LWD dumped today, however we came closer than ever to their weekly average. Tweakers Australia and Macrumors have been forum-visited, both vow to increase production. We are still waiting for them to post motivational material.

Our next victim is less than two weeks away now, with the #3 Mac position at just over three weeks. More power, the dogs are still getting away! Mush!

In preparation for a Power Run, I have added tracking for the following Folding teams:

Hong Kong Team
Team Alberta
Mods4Me
Tweakers Australia

Also, our Folding CLI install page has been fixed with the -local info needed for multiple CPU systems.

The Supercomputer has a SETI unit to finish up (5% left), but will be switched to Folding once that is done.

...
53 Uni of Hawaii - 24K behind, outcrunching us by 250/day. Intercept: 98 days

Today's Outlook
Not much change today. The prospects have gotten a bit closer, the potential threats below slipped further back, and LWD added a couple hundred units on us.

We're still outcrunching everyone nearby except LWD and MSU_ACM. The Supercomputer is working on a 19'r, eta 7-10 days.

Our outlook calls for stable skies tonight, with a chance at more excitement tomorrow.

Greetings Y'all...

The daily news report is a little work but it brings the team together pretty well eh?

BTW:
"Supercomputer is working on a 19'r, eta 7-10 days."

Ummm this is a joke, right? My desktop does a 19'er in 32-40 hrs (depending on usage)

The super computer is a FatMAC, right? (I vaguely recall them from highschool)

One last thing, we have room on our team for everyone who wants to move up the charts as fast as possible

The Supercomputer is a G4 350 rated at 2.8 GFlop. In RC5-64, with the altivec client, it was able to outcrunch a P4-2000. However, it's hard to get good times in Folding when it is running hours of stats at the same time - plus the games. Gotta have the games.

Today's Outlook
A stunning day for production. Also, a welcome to all the new members who have joined recently. One might even notice that Welnic joined very quietly, we will not let it slip that some boxes have wandered back this way.

We outcrunched MSU_ACM for the first time, and made up the ground lost to LWD yesterday. If current rates are maintained, LWD will be back in the bag in just over three weeks. Woof!

Many of the active members on the team have increased production recently, this is having just as much of an effect on our totals as the heavy hitters.

Speaking of the heavy hitters, the fight for #1 has gotten tighter, it's hard to guess who will reach 7,500 first. Shaktai, krove, and Scott all appear to be adding boxes. AMDs must grow on trees.

After the thunderstorm today, we project light overcast skies tonight. Teams in front of us are getting moderate to heavy rain, with a chance of snow.

The return of previous members and the addition of new ones is making a huge difference. Every little bit helps the team and even more importantly the science. I couldn't believe today's team production. Nothing short of awesome.

Way to go everyone.

Edit: I was just thinking that it was only a short time ago, that a good day was breaking 400 and the average daily was about 360-370. We have come a long way in a short time.

Today's Outlook
Our rate fell back from yesterday's high, we returned for at least a day to our weekly average. This most likely means people are saving up again. It also pushed our intercepts back a bit, Tweakers Australia is at 10 days and Macrumors is at 18 days. LWD gained 50 units on us.

Team Alberta may have noticed five fast teams gaining on them - they increased production slightly. Discussion group is here, it is a bit on the dead side. Mods4Me has a DC forum here. They appear to be focused on internal races at the moment.

A quiet period today, with clear skies tonight and an unpredictable day tomorrow.

42 Russia - 4.1K behind, outcrunched by 380/day.
43 Team PimpRig - 5.0K behind, outcrunched by 380/day.

Today's Outlook
We are above our weekly curve again, but still below LWD's weekly average. The #3 Mac position is under two weeks away at today's rate.

Tweakers Australia is getting two inches (5 cm) of rain, with heavier clouds rolling in. Looks like they have a bad week coming up. We are expecting sunny skies tomorrow, with good visibility.

There seems to be dissention among the ranks of Tweakers Australia. People are becoming dissatisfied with their team's production....thinking that there might be greener pastures....talk of merging teams....Hmm....

Today's Outlook
We are back on the regular curve again (normal Ranks caught up). Time for a recruiting run to increase our power. Scott, I expect at least 30 more people, so don't stint on the recruiting lies.

Tweakers Australia is 8 days away and Macrumors is at 15. We recaptured the units lost to LWD yesterday. The dogs are not getting away, we just need to reel them in.

The weather has been calm the last couple days. A good thunderstorm would be welcome, we'll see what comes. Tomorrow should bring a winner in the race to 7,500 - this could mean some large dumping from several different people.

Today's Outlook
Once again, we are on the regular curve. This means our production has been stable rather than climbing.

Tweakers Australia is 7 days away, but Macrumors dumped a ton. This pushed them back to 19. Hopefully, it was just a dump. LWD gained 30 units on us today.

We have a winner in the race to 7,500. Scott managed a last-minute upload to push him over the top, Shaktak was within 2 units of winning. This is the closest race we have ever had. Congratulations to all on some exceptional crunching.

Clear weather again, which is better than getting rained on. Tweakers Australia's week looks to be getting wetter, their production fell somewhat today.

37 Macrumors - 8.2K ahead, outcrunched by 150/day. Intercept: 55 days
38 LWD - 8.1K ahead, outcrunching us by 320/day.
39 MSU_ACM - 7.7K ahead, outcrunching us by 1200/day.
40 Tweakers Australia - 5.0K ahead, outcrunched by 330/day. Intercept: 14.9 days
41 Team MacNN
42 Russia - 4.5K behind, outcrunched by 30/day. Need More Power
43 Team PimpRig - 4.8K behind, outcrunching us by 40/day. Intercept: 110 days
...
53 Uni of Hawaii - 30K behind, outcrunching us by 560/day. Intercept: 54 days

Today's Outlook
Since the race ended, our daily production has fallen by ~300 units. Ranks have not caught up to this yet, but the above shows a corrected view. More power needed, even Tweakers Australia has gotten an extra week of safety. LWD is getting away, while the #3 Mac position has been pushed back to almost two months.

Overcast skies for us tonight, with light but steady rain on the Tweakers. We need more people. At least the Supercomputer should dump tomorrow.
