The PC I have at work is having a hard time returning work units. I've got 5 complete WU I can't seem to return. I've checked the two servers it's trying to connect to on the stat page and the status says they are ok. I'm behind a firewall here and can obviously get WU's. My home computers are fine. And I can tell that my brother's computers are returning WU's and I'm pretty sure he's behind a firewall at his work.

Is there anything I can do? I've put this PC back on dfold in the meantime. Here's my log file. Not really much interesting and I'm running with -verbosity 9.

try running it with the -send all command.
If that doesn't work, wait a day and try again. After a week of that happening, you should probably just delete the whole work folder and start over.

Can you copy folders to another machine to send them in?

Yup, that's what I was using and what was generating the log I pasted in. I'll go with your recommendation about trying to send and bailing on the work directory if this behaviour continues into next week.

I'm not happy about losing work units. Boo hoo.

Don't try moving the directory. Work is associated with a specific machine.

If you didn't notice, Stanford Univ. is having a controlled power outage up until sometime Saturday.

Maybe this is the reason for your not being able to upload results.
folding@home is good for you.

As long as you can download new work to keep crunching, don't worry about a unit that can't be sent right away. Now if it doesn't go within a day or two, then there is a bigger problem. Sometimes a server will show that it is sending and receiving but may have other problems. This is a "complex" project.

Unfortunately it's been ongoing since I started crunching on this particular PC; all of 4 days. Couldn't return WU's when I got to work this morning (Friday). All day Thursday was also a complete bust.

I gave up on the finished work units I had and let the client create a fresh work folder. I'll let it finish the current unit, cross my fingers and hope it returns it successfully.
