Can someone clarify how to run 2 clients, the CLI version & the GUI version, on the same machine? I have a Dual 1.25ghz G4.
Or
Does F@H use both processors from 1 client?
Thanks

What I did was created two different directories and copied the contents from the first one to the second one. After getting both directories set up I start up the F@H sesions.
As I remember one session will hit both processors.
Anyone please feel free to correct / add to this information.

You do need to run two copies to fully utilize both processors. You can just have the GUI version running the normal way. The CLI version you need to start with a -local switch so it will keep all of its files in its own folder.
Start up the CLI version first and then check in its folder to see if a work folder has been created with a bunch of wudata* files. If it is putting them in there then the two copies will not interfere with each other. I think that you can do something like that with the GUI version but I have never used it.
You can run two copies of the CLI if you want to, just have two separate folders and run both with the -local flag.

The GUI will default the files to user/library/folding@home/
With the CLI you will need to run it with the -local switch in its own directory otherwise it will try to use the same files as the GUI. You will also need to go into -config and under the advanced options will need to select machine ID #2 so that the serves don't get confused and keep trying to issue the same work unit to both CPU's. If you don't do that, you may only get credit for one of the CPU's work. A bit more work to setup the second CPU but well worth it.
Also use the -advmethods flag on the CLI to ensure you get Gromacs cores when available. They are definitely faster then the Tinker Cores. With the GUI, you may get either one. If you want only the Gromacs run two instances of the CLI with the -local and -advmethods flags. Under config set one to Machine ID 1 and the other to Machine ID 2 and then start racking up those points.
Welcome aboard!
