I'm asking this question on behalf of a Team Stir Fry teamate who is trying to determine how he can take get full utilization of both his processors on his dual cpu PowerMac running OSX. Is there some way to properly run two instances of the client software at once or some other way to manage this? I couldn't find the answer elsewhere, so I figured that this board would be the place to ask.

Just run two copies. It isn't anymore complicated than that. To run the fastest he needs to use the -rt switch if he has the ram. Running with the -qt switch also makes a big difference as the terminal program sucks up a lot of cpu time to display those ascii graphics, which aren't even in color on the Mac.

If he needs it to start up on its own I could write something about that too. I think with the new setup that just shutting the computer down without explictly turning the client off is not as bad a thing as phase 1. I'll do a little research on that.

I'll also just post over there.

Are the ascii graphics in color if you type

before running them on a mac in Terminal?

No, it doesn't make any difference. The only time I have seen it in color on my Mac is running it on a linux box in an xterm window. If you run it on a linux box in Terminal it looks the same as it does on a Mac, some of the characters are a lighter shade of gray, but no color.
