Looking at the top 20 stats, wouldn't it be great to merge with Team OGrady and Team Mac Observer?

That would give a combined team with 2 million units and a daily rate of 1,300 units per day. Still way short of Team MacAddict but a very competitive team in the top 30.

This idea comes from the fact that these 3 teams are going nowhere for now, they are getting outcrunched by their current neighbours and probably generate very little interest. It would be nice to get some people with new G5 on board, and the best way to attract them is to get more attention.

Food for thoughts!

Whao, looks like no one really cares.

Anyway there are talks on the xlr8yourmac RC5 forums about some merging. Their computing power on RC5 with TeamMacNN stats would make an amazing combination likely to draw many macs users to all the DC projects... Dream ON

They are welcome to join us. At some point we'll be able to make subteams so they'll be able to track themselves within our stats, but we aren't taking the team anywhere.

I know an "Uber Mac" team was discussed a long while back, but it never went anywhere. The difficulty is that one team has to lose their identity. Or, if all terms merge into one new team, ALL teams have to lose their identities. Because of all the work with stats and other things that have gone into TeamMacNN, its unlikely that it would be folded into another team.
The question is whether Team Mac/OGrady (which has no forums, nor a website that ever gets updated) or xlr8yourmac want to abandon their own team identities and join us. We would love to have them certainly.
Maybe if someone made them some cookies they might come over.

It's a great idea, that will never go anywhere, for ego reasons...

No team will give up it's identity... not MacNN, xlr8yourmac, or any other team for that matter...

BTW... Howdy again... just poking around some... haven't posted in a few months.. but you have some great info around here!

Well the only way it would happen is if all teams would give up their identity. The stats could be rolled in that "new" team with low efforts (I think).

Aahh, egos...

Back several months ago, when I was going full bore on SETI, I went around to all of the Mac teams and dropped hints and URL's back to our stats pages to show them what they were missing. No response at all as far as I could tell. I do not see why some of those people stay with those pathetic teams. No stats pages, no forums, nada! Good luck with that effort. It really is a good idea and should work great, but Toast is right, no one wants to give up their identity, even when that identity sux....
