I think the title is pretty straightforward. How are the Folding points calculated? I seem to be getting a lot more points per WU than most people, is it just because I run Folding for like 16 hours a day when I'm not home?

I think this is a more up to date version:

How do you determine how many points a work unit is worth? Before putting out any new work unit, we benchmark it on a dedicated 500MHz Celeron machine (this machine does not have SSE/3DNow). We plug the results of this into the following formula:

points = 2 * multiplier * (daysPerWU)

where daysPerWU is -- no surprise -- the number of days it took to complete the unit.

Tag ur it.

The general trend in F@H is for the units that they give out to get bigger and be worth more points. They are taking advantage of the fact the computers are getting faster. So if you have just started folding your average score per wu will be higher than someone who has been folding for a while.
