Well we are currently #12 rank overall and should be able to grab the #11 spot sometime in the next 1-2 weeks.

Our weekly average production rank (with only 7 active participants) is #7.

drengy has been giving me a run for my money. It is all I can do to stay ahead overall on daily production and drengy still betters me on some days. -- jclarkv, DrBoar and realmac are all running a pretty tight race of their own. Things may get interesting when realmac finally gets delivery on his G5. -- Spronkenater and allpar3 have also been plugging along at more leisurely rate, but every spare CPU cycle is appreciated. It all helps.

It took a long time, but I finally passed mikkyo for the #1 team spot. Of course he stopped crunching D2OL last winter I think. It just took me this long to catch up.

Someone asked so I did some quick math. right now we would need the equivelent of about 6-7 Athlon 2400s running linux to go for the #3 weekly spot. It would take 35 Athlon 2400 eqivilent boxes to go for #1. That would be about 5 dual 1.25's for #3 and 25 dual 1.25 boxes for #1. That plus a lot of time for the overall standings. The leaders are quite a ways out in front.

The likelihood of a stats reset, is now looking to be almost nil, though they will eventually implement a validation protocol to deter cheaters.

Actually I have a couple of nodes running since screwing with the new D2OL client.
I just haven't added them yet.

I see that you apparently added them now. Nothing like jumping in with 7020 conformers at once. (351 candidates).

That was enough to make us #6 in production for today.

I decided to cancel the G5 order for a powerbook g4/1.25 GHz which is supposed to ship on or before 10/3.

Got tired of waiting and being a student at a wifi equipped campus, it seemed like a more logical move. That and I'm free to roam the spacious Long Island countryside (what remains of it at least)

It was ordered on the 19th, scheduled to ship on or before the 26th but got pushed back. That's not to say the Powerbook won't be doing any work...
It is in the moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.

Here's what my 10 nodes are (in case you are curious):

(1) Dual 2gig G5
(2) 1.8 G5s
(1) 1.6 G5
(1) 1.2 G4 Cube (Powerlogix upgrade)
(1) Dual 1gig G4 PowerMac
(1) 800mhz eMac
(1) 700mhz G4 iMac
(1) 800mhz G3 iBook

No idea what the 10th node is, I think it's left over from a year or more ago when I was testing the old D20L client.

After Columbus Day, I might be adding 5 more Dual 2gig G5s. Keep your fingers crossed…

I want to run the D20L client, but not have the icon constantly sitting in the dock. Anyone know of a way to run it in the background without having to stare at that damn powder-blue cross all day?

thanks in advance…

It is probably possible.
you can run D2OL via the file method, which is a command line only method that I used to use on the old D2OL, however it would still show up in the dock.
You can set some properties to make apps not show in the dock though.
You would have to research it.
Try searching on Apple's developer site for Background Only.
Of course if you are trying to hide it from people using the computer without their knowledge, that is a no-no.
Especially since it is so processor intensive everything will go slowly, which will make them notice.

Sheesh! No wonder I am struggling to stay ahead of you.

My 11 nodes are in reality
Node 1 &2 on one dual 1.25 G4
Node 3, a GigaDesign 1.2 in a sawtooth
That is it!
In my prime I had
Node 4 a P III /600 NT4 retired after a hack
Node 5&6 7600/200 and a G3/350 7500 both running 10.1.5 and not able to run version 2 of the client
Node 7-11 misshaps created while trying to get the dual to run two clients.

Drengy I am moving over to the right lane and let you zip past
