Hi,

I've started running FAH again, now that its a bit colder, so my PB 12" doesn't fry. I have the processor set to the lower setting, but the main source of heat appears to be the HD. I hear it spinning up often when it is just crunching. I should have enough ram (640Mb). Is there anything I can do to reduce the HD activity, thus reducing wear and heat?

Thanks for the help,

David

It doesn't usually write that often. When the version 4 clients are generally available, you'll be able to set the time between checkpoints (writes).

You might consider a USB pen drive.
folding@home is good for you.
