After a long hiatus (about 1 year ) I'm back to crunching D2OL.

Dual G4 867MHz (2 nodes)
G4 400MHz (1 node)

Question for ya'll. Couldn't find an answer, but I have animations turned off, but does leaving the agent window open use much CPU power or is it best to close them?

As I reall you gain speed by all reductions of fancy stuff. Especially on low end computers like the 400 Mhz G4. I noticed that on the previous verision of the client on a 7300/200 and a 7500-G3/350 as well as a G4/400. I thought I posted some numbers about it but I can not find it here or at D2OL.

Just open the terminal and type "top" and do a return
There you willl have lsits of CPU usage of gridwin.exe as well as front end D2OLagent and the CPU usage for your particular hardware and software will be revealed

If you leave the graphical agent running, it can steal from 30-50% of your CPU power. Definitely turn it off if you want maximum output.
