It may have picked up a Tinker unit. Those are very slow on a Mac.

Does restarting your computer fix the slowdown?

Make sure you are running with the -forceasm tag. If you forcibly quit the core process without that flag, it will restart the next time without the AltiVec boost. After another restart the client should retry AltiVec, but that might take awhile.

i dont want to attempt a restart as that messes up the settings for the machine id 2 and when i start the second process that should be the second machine id it just runs the same core as the first process.

reader i never forced them to quit since upgrading to the version 4 and i change the advanced settind for the machine id and i told it not to disable the altivec.

this is puzzeling me i may just go back to version 3 if i have time tonite before i go on hols.
