after installing and getting the two cores running i left my trusty G5 running but afer time it has slowed right down its taking as long to do each part of a unit as my 800 iBook any ideas as to what is going wrong?

Make sure you are running with the -forceasm tag. If you forcibly quit the core process without that flag, it will restart the next time without the AltiVec boost. After another restart the client should retry AltiVec, but that might take awhile.
i dont want to attempt a restart as that messes up the settings for the machine id 2 and when i start the second process that should be the second machine id it just runs the same core as the first process.
reader i never forced them to quit since upgrading to the version 4 and i change the advanced settind for the machine id and i told it not to disable the altivec.
this is puzzeling me i may just go back to version 3 if i have time tonite before i go on hols.
