We got an email in the team box last night. A new person wanted to install it and join Team MacNN, but she wasn't sure how to be sure she'd end up on the team. I checked our resource pages, sure enough the D2OL Install page never got written.

Some forums searching turned up some fix-the-client posts (mostly by mikkyo), but no real install-join-team walk throughs. I had problems the last time I tried to install D2OL (which is when I was taking screen shots and beginning to write that Install page), that was months back.

Could some of our D2OL experts post step by step install-join instructions here?

Here's a bit about joining the team, once you've installed and gotten your node up and running. Head to the D2OL site and log in to the personal stats page:

After you log in, you should see a button graphic that says "Join Team". Click it. This will take you to a team look-up page. It also has a basic search field. Type in "MacNN" and run the search. Your search should return the result "Team MacNN". Click it. On that page will be another little button graphic that says "Join". Click it.

Congratulations, you've just joined Team MacNN. When you return to your personal stats page, it should list your personal stats and the team's stats, so that's an easy way to confirm that you've joined the team.
