Try as I might to get a gromacs unit on a dual G5 (by deleting the work and unit files/folders in the fah folder), all I was able to get were tinkers... Then I start up folding on a dual G4 and I pull down two gromacs units.
Does Stanford pair architecture with certain units?

No. And, they assign a WU to a specific computer, so deleting it has one of two effects. If you get a different WU, you've delayed the project while they wait for it to expire and be sent out again. What usually happens is you get the same WU again.

Oh crap that's right, I don't know what I was thinking.
This all stems from me wanting to get folding on every CPU that I can get my hands on (within reason, of course). I work in a Macintosh tech shop and every once in awhile I'll have a G5 that I'm configuring for some faculty member on campus and I'll have 24 hours before I have to deliver it. Perfect opportunity for a quick few work units, right? Right.
Unless I get a tinker, that is.

Are you using the -advmethods flag when you start the client? It does seem to help get Gromacs cores.

Yep, I'm using -advmethods. Oh well, I'll be throwing a dual 1.8 at team MacNN folding for a few weeks come next monday, we'll see if that's enough time to finish a few tinkers if they keep throwing those at all my poor G5s.
