Hey,

From my upgraded B&W - OEM 450Mhz card.

My team has no B&W G3 users so I'm offering the proc to anyone from MacNN. I'll even throw in slow-boat shipping as long as it's used for a DC proj.

Just a note. I believe it would work in a Beige G3 as well as a Blue & White.

Hey there,

I have a BeigeG3 that I have been looking to upgrade. Do you still have the processor chip?

You need to mod the jumpers to make it work in a Beige, probably.
If the above poster doesn't take it, I'm interested if my G3 doesn't survive the move while staying on (uptime preservation ).

Yea, I think I still have the jumper settings for the Beige stashed some where. A while back I was going to see if I could "bump" the 333 that I have in mine, but I figured it wasnt worth the effort for the very little gain I would get out of it.

All,

PMM gets the chip. He has the slowest machine to upgrade so he'll benefit the most.

PMM, your PM box is full and can't receive more msgs. Go clean it out and then send me an addy.

Shipped as of 1445 this PM. Be there in 2-3 days.

It did ~4M/sec OGR stubs in my B&W with 1GB of RAM.

Enjoy.

Will do.

I've got the jumpers on order from Radio Shack. We'll see how long it takes for them to ship them.

Pretty cool ~ Dedicated S@H box?

You overclocked your bus?

Yeah, pretty much dedicated to S@H, but also my Unreal Tournament box. UT flies on the Voodoo 5.

I'd have the bus at 83MHz, but my PC-66 RAM doesn't seem to want to handle it. So, I'll probably pick up a cheap 256MB PC-100 DIMM sometime in the near future.

*Bows*

I really haven't been able to make use of it's potential though as I only have 176MBs of RAM. And Unreal in particular seems to want quite a bit more RAM than I am capable of giving it now to run well.

But yeah, I am very proud to have a Voodoo 5. I picked it up on eBay a few months back for $60, and managed to get the original box, papers, CDs and adapters. Box was a little banged up though. Oh well...

Assuming this is in OS9, give the system more virtual memory. The original UT works well with VM, I expect the original Unreal to like it also. Set it to 384-512 MB and give it another try.
