Bad news first. The bad news is circumstances prevent me from continuing as a meaningful point contributor to F@H and team16. The good news is I have a perfectly good folding rig available for sale.

It includes everything except the ATX case and power cord.
MSI K7N2 nForce2 400+MCP Socket A mobo (search for MS-6570 on MSI's site)
1.83ghz Athlon XP 2500+ Barton (will overclock to around 2ghz stably and cooly, depending on climate of course).
128mb DDR
6gig hdd
old agp video card
Speeze aluminium 80mm hsf
400w Allied power supply
cabling

$50 shipped. I'll chop $10 off if you don't want the power supply since it is the heaviest item. As you can tell, the value of these items is quite a bit more than the requested total so I'm not gouging by any means though the total is obviously more than the cost of shipping (about $30).

I'm still willing to coordinate the adopt-a-rig program since that doesn't require [much] electricity.

I'll have another cpu+mobo+ram available for another rig in a few days.

If you'd be fine with it being used for SETI@Home/BOINC, I'd love to take it.

Let me know.

I do, I do. sylrevster at the old yahoo dot kommunist thingy. You can figure it out. Sorry PowerMacMan, but Folding is my baby, so you can't have it.

Hey OneMacGuy, it might come in multiple packages. It just depends on the boxes I have available and the packing materials at hand.

The other system is a 266A Soyo Dragon Plus mobo, high end back in the day, 128mb DDR266 ram, and a XP1700+. I'll let it go for $35 which is exactly how much it cost me, less the cpu of course. I really should charge more for this stuff... Anybody wanna donate an extra five or tenner to the old "keep Zimmerman's out of the poor house" fund?

Well crap. More bad news OneMacGuy. I was gonna test the XP2500 in MSI mobo before I ship but it won't boot. I tried swapping the ram out and thats not it. I'm going to put the 1700+ in and see if it isn't the proc. If I can't get the system to boot I'm gonna refund you your money. Maybe I just need to reset the CMOS...

Well I'm a dummy. I guess you can't just drop a CPU into a strange mobo without resetting the CMOS. So we're set. Thanks for watching.

$100 if you feel like it, otherwise somewhere between that and $35 to the same paypal account. It includes the Soyo mobo, 128mb ddr, XP1700+.

I still can't believe I just giving this stuff away like this *shakes head* ...

I hope you are not giving it away cheap if you had to release it because of budget problems...

Hmmm. I'm not sure if the XP1700+ works or not. It'll be at least next Tuesday before I'll be able to find out so hold off paying anything until I give the OK.
