I'm just wondering when and if a compiled version of boinc 4.x will be availible or be made by someone? I can't seem to get my done work unit sent, I'm also guessing that it may be due to problems with whats going on with their appliance's right now, but even so, it also happened before they posted the message about it on the 27th, but then they might have had problems then too, without realizing it..? Just wondering.. thanks..

I am sure we will eventually see compiled versions of 4.x, but I suspect your problem is related to SETI server issues, not to the version you are running.

I believe the sending and receiving problem your having has to do with Seti's hardware issues only. The BOINC 4.x client has been tested by the Climate Prediction project for a while and has had no problems. The speed of crunching the work units is the issue of not having any optimized clients for 4.05. My 4.05 client is running over 3 times slower than when I had the optimized client and seti worker.

Be patient and we might see new optimized clients for 4.05 soon.

make[2]: *** [boinc_api.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

anyways, if someone who comes across this post and is a Developer, and mabey is willing to help me out or know of a really good place on the web to learn to develop, On OS X of course please send me the link.. or do both.. That would be greatly appreciated.. Other than that, keep on crunching on whatever you want to crunch on..

Spunky, Go to the link below for the latest MacNN compiles by mikkyo. BOINC v4.06. They work great. Includes an optimized SETI work, but we don't yet have javalizards altivec optimizations.

Looks like you have incomplete source.
Boinc is worked on by several folks and they don't always check in stuff that works on all the platforms.
If you really want to build it yourself as a first timer, you should check out source for a released version.
You can do with with their cvs server by doing something like
cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@alien.ssl.berkeley.edu:/home/cvs/cvsroot login
cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@alien.ssl.berkeley.edu:/home/cvs/cvsroot checkout -r boinc_release_4_05 boinc

This will get you the boinc directory with the stuff that is in the 4.05 release.
See if that helps.

BTW, the 4.05 version does not work correctly on Tiger Preview for ClimatePrediction.
Looks like their workers aren't happy with Tiger.
