Yep.
Boinc is under active bug fixing..I mean development.
I may have time this week to create new optimized versions.

That would be great. Looks like this could be an ongoing thing.

Here's the latest terminal message I'm getting from Seti:
"[SETI@home] Message from server: A new version (4.09) of the BOINC core client is available from this project's web site."

My 4.06 G4 7450 optimized client is still crunching though.

I've made 4.11 boinc clients, just need to get them to the right folks for a bit of testing and then they can be put up.

I have a new item to test.
An auto configuring boinc client setup.
It includes all the various cpu compiles and some scripts to auto configure based on the machine you run it on.
It will need a bit of testing before I put it out for all though.

Mikkyo has supplied a new download. It's up and it sounds useful.

Love the new Dominance Pack, mikkyo! Was real easy to set up.

I did notice that when I got up and running with Cron and all, looking at my Activity Monitor I noticed that the boinc_4.11_ppcG4 was actually using CPU cycles. At least 50% or better compared to Climates hadsm3um_4.03. As I recall the old versions of boinc normally took almost no CPU time and the project workers took 90% or better. I did a restart to check the cron and the CPU consumption remained about the same for boinc and the Climate worker.
Does this sound normal for the new 4.11?

Boinc uses cpu time during uploads, downloads, or any other communication with the server, the initial benchmark, and when writing out progress and status info to the xml files. Chances are you were looking at it when one of those things was going on.
Check it again a few times if you are concerned, but if it was your first 4,11 run on an existing install, it always runs the benchmark before actually doing any work.
