In the Climate Prediction forums, a number of Mac users have reported problems with the zipping of result files at completion of their Climate Prediction projects. Typically, such projects have a client error as outcome, and the following stderr out :
<core_client_version>4.19</core_client_version>
<message>process got signal 10
</message>
<active_task_state>3</active_task_state>
<signal>10</signal>
<stderr_txt>
zip warning: Too many open files
zip warning: could not open for reading: 01dpba.ph34c10.x2.nc
zip warning: zip file empty
zip I/O error: Too many open files
zip error: Temporary file failure (ziw7V6f4)
</stderr_txt>
I copied this from one of the projects that Team MacNN's number 1, Christian Hoklas, finished recently. It means that his computer successfully completed the project, but failed to zip and send all the result files. The zipping process usually gets stuck at ###.ph34c10.x2.nc, it then loses a few files and the rest is simply not zipped or uploaded. In short, you get the credits, but your results are not used, which is of course a waste of valuable CPU time. See the CP forum thread
http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cp...ad.php?id=2582 for more details.
So check your result pages to see if you are getting this error as well, because it seems to be a programming error. The CP forum mentioned that the programmer is drowning in his work, but maybe there are some geeks around here that could solve the problem for him. In the meantime, I would suggest to manually make a duplicate of the dataout folder for each project when it nears completion, in the hope that maybe your results can be uploaded later, when a patch has been found.
