BOINC/S@H on Jaguar

Hello all!
A Google search shows that it used to be possible to run S@H-BOINC on Jaguar (10.2.8) in the early 3.0x days of the BOINC client. However, I couldn't find any downloads of BOINC and/or SETI clients that would run on Jaguar at the moment. Does anyone know if it's still possible to run S@H-BOINC on Jaguar, and - if so - where the apropriate client(s) can be downloaded?
TIA for any insights!
Ron

There is no point to running on 10.2.8.
10.3 is way faster overall, so if you want to crunch efficiently and fast, as well as have a more efficient and faster OS, you should upgrade to 10.3.9 and then you can run all the latest, fastest Boinc clients.

If you haven't upgraded because of the cost, you might consider asking your aquaintances who have Macs and have upgraded to OS 10.4 for the their old copy of OS 10.3. They don't need it any more, and you could still use it to run BOINC stuff (upgrade to OS 10.3.9 so you can use the latest optimized stuff...

There were several attempts to develop Jaguar compiled clients, but few successes. The error rate was unusually high, if it ran at all. Both third parties and the developers tried to address the issue, but with no success. The only folks I heard of having any success, were those who compiled their own, and even then they only worked on their own machines. Funny thing is, that most of them were never heard from again, so I wonder if they really had any success at all. Officially, BOINC does not support or run on 10.2.x.
As others have said, it is worth upgrading, just for the overall performance increases.

Thanks for the replies, everyone! Unfortunately, the machine in question has to remain on Jaguar Server, since it runs Java server Apps that won't run on Panther or Tiger...
Cheers,
Ron

Well that sucks if you are sure you can't run your Java apps on a later OS.
If you look at the Boinc Benchmarks thread you can see the performance differences.
If have Developer Tools installed on the machine, you can try compiling the boinc client yourself, but you won't be able to use any of the latest optimized workers.

Mikkyo had asked about a multi-project sig a long time ago. It wasn't practical with our sig size limits at the time, and we didn't try anything. But our sig sizes are bigger now, so I did some experimenting yesterday. Multisigs need to be set up manually, but they do work.
Scott is occupied just now, so I can't get rewrite rules adjusted on the web server to give a unified multisig url. Until then, it will be a custom url for each multisig. I'm not advertising the new sigs just yet, since I'm still experimenting with the code, and the rewrite rule isn't in yet. Finally, the current urls will go away sometime after we get a rewrite rule for multisigs.
We have enough room for up to four projects to display at once. If you want more than four covered, I'll make four display randomly on each sig load. If you want a multisig url, send a PM or IM my way with the projects to include, and the name you use in each project if they aren't obvious. I'll set it up.
Edit: The above info is outdated. Please see our MultiSig thread for current instructions.
