Does a mini doing OGR need 512 or greater?

PPC kicks azz on OGR. I don't need more monitors so an iMac is not cost-effective.
If I get a mini 1.42, would I need more than 256MB RAM? I'm thinking not but thought I would run it by you lot.
Thanks in advance and happy crunching!

Haven't done OGR in a very long time. As I recall though, it isn't memory intensive so you should be okay with 256. Nowdays though, 512 can't hurt.

The question is academic unless you are getting a used or refurb Mini. All new Minis come with 512 MB. And if you order a 1.42 today, there is a good chance you will get a 1.5 instead.

Tiger with a logged-in user consumes about 330 MB of RAM (as of 10.4.3). Don't know for sure what the situation is when it just sits at the login screen. 512 MB definitely won't hurt, IMO.
FWIW,

They won't be doing anything other than OGR, so 512 should be enough. I'm buying Apple refurbs.
Thanks for the advice!
