Trying to install D2OL on my Mac (see Sig) and the install just quits (never actually opens). I used Stuffit Expander as the directions said. Any ideas?

One of the recent updates totally killed the installer and the app. I ran software update and after the updates were installed the program wouldn't run. I email the project manager, Charles, about it and he said that they knew about it. As to when it will be fixed he doesn't know as they just hired a new programer to start on building a new client. I would guess late this year or early next a revamped d2ol will be out.

Interesting. Hope they fix it soon. Odd thing is, I just installed it on my machine at work, which is running Tiger, and it installs fine. But here at home, running 10.3.9, it won't install.

Glad to see that it runs in Tiger. Interesting that it runs in Tiger but not 10.3.9. The last updates I installed before everything stopped working was the battery, itunes, quicktime, safari, and ipod updates. Don't really now how any of those could break it.

I messed with D2OL and was among the top 10 members in the macnn team. But that java client was very tricky and went dead at allmost any OS upgrade. After waiting for updates and all that to many times I got fed up and moved to Fold@home.

F@H runs rocksolid on any OS X. I also run it in Win 98SE , WIN2000 and Win XP, the latter to both as application and as a service.

So F@H or perhaps some BOINC project is what I recomend.

D2OL was way to much hassle, and as they have been like this for at least 3 years, I doubt that they will be much better any time soon.
