Excellent, thanx! No worries then - glad about that. Will try to elevate the mini to reduce these temps a bit...

/ron

Edit: elevating the mini off the surface it was standing on by about 6 mm caused an almost immediate CPU temperature drop of approx. 4 °C. Nice!

Yep, I have changes in the works to relieve memory bandwidth pressure. I believe this will help real-world performance on multiprocessor Macs, but I'll need to verify this on other machines besides my own. (I cannot confirm or deny other Core2-specific goodies in the works. ) I'm still tuning some functions and working out some FLOP-counting kinks, though.

I am now running KWSN 2.2 on both of my PC's, looking forward to seeing what other stuff Alex can come up with for my old eMac.

Hi alex,

great effort with the Chicken 2.2. However, as a side-effect the Windows client is now almost as quick as the 7.1-G5 client. My P4 3.0 GHz takes exactly the same amount of time as my G5 Dual 2.7 GHz machine. Hope you will "correct" this soon

Oops! Just found out the answer, I think to my own question. Looks like it's running 41.8 MFlops vs the "standard" MacPro's 24.5 MFlops.

Thanx, Gecko_r7! Who would have thought... In S@H Classic, I was struggling to stay among the top 10'000.

BTW, those minis have really helped with this regard. Of particular interest may be my Core 2 Duo-modded mini, which is about to break the 2'000 RAC barrier.

If you are the owner of a Mac Pro and would like to collect numbers for a prerelease app, please send me a PM with contact info. Dual-core C2D Intel owners, I already have a machine to test on. Have patience, it shouldn't be more than a couple of days before this app will be ready for you guys, too.

PPC and CD owners, you may have to wait a bit longer, as I have some backporting and testing to do.

E.T, I'm especially interested in seeing how this app performs on your modded Mac Pro...

It's because of you, Alexkan, that I couldn't find my stats today. Why? Because my row changed colour from white to orange. Why? Because your optimized application boosted my daily output tremendously. Thanks for that.

May I suggest that there be a prominent link on the front page of Team MacNN pointing to your applications and instructions for installation. There are several new members here who are not using your apps. I wonder if they just don't know about them or can't locate them.

Do you all have access to the S@H pages? I can't get any of them to load since hours.
