I see a lot of changes coming in Bionc and I do not have the time to keep reloading all of these computers with the new clients. Any suggestions as to what looks stable for the long haul with no majpr changes coming?

Mostly PC crunchers, but I do have a few Macs crunching too.

I think BOINC is pretty close to reaching its final development. A lot of work has been done in the last couple of years and most projects are refining their workers, but in a fairly seamless way. Einstein have an optimised mac client already and rosetta are working on theirs. Any changes to them should be seamless.

Playing with optimised versions, If you want to and where they are available, could continue to be an on going thing as this project specific development work goes on, but they are by no means essential to running BOINC. Account Managers are going to be very handy if you are running a farm.

The current release of BOINC is 5.4.9 and we await the account managers which should be along soon.

Version 5.4 of the BOINC client software has been released. This version lets you use account managers - special web sites that let you browse BOINC projects, attach/detach, change resource share and settings, all with point-and-click simplicity. Account managers are also great if you have several computers - you make changes on the web site, and they take effect on all of your computers. A couple of excellent account managers are nearly ready for use; stay tuned for details.

Check out http://boinc.berkeley.edu/ for developments.

I would say hang on for a while, it should settle down pretty soon now.
