Chicken says that he will need to update his optomized clients because of the change to 5.17 or 5.18. Will you need to update yours too?

Thanks,
Erik

Of course. I might only wind up pulling the bare minimum required for my clients to behave like 5.17/5.18 clients, but there will definitely need to be changes made. It sounds like I still have some time left to do that, though.

Thanks Alex. I think S@H is already sending out 5.17 jobs. I cannot download new jobs, and am getting this error message:

Okay, I finally discovered the problem. If you are doing all of the following, you will have this problem:

1) using the current client (5.4.9)
2) running SETI with any optimized application that uses a info_app.xml
3) also running SETI Beta (which is currently running 5.17)

SETI (non-Beta) becomes confused and thinks it needs 5.17 to run the 5.13 jobs...or something like that. Anyway, a simple edit of the info_app.xml solves the problem. Details are here:

Update: This happens (at least for me) only on my MBP. So far, it is not a problem on my G5 quad.
