Greetings-

For some reason, my MacBook Pro 2.0GHz clocks down to 1GHz if I pop the battery out and run strictly on outlet power. Anyone know why that is? Is this a known issue?

That's correct.

It's a feature, not a bug.

Ok, how is it a feature? Why on earth would I want it to throttle down? More importantly, can I turn this "feature" off?

Ok, I did a search (apparently with the right keywords) and found the following related article:

Sounds like it's a bug, not a feature
