I would like to run some projects on my PowerMac that I bought a few yesrs ago but I sounds like a vacume when I do. I has 2 G5s @ 2.5GHz. What can I do to fix this?

Firmware update.
Run the Software Update and follow the directions.

What is your ambient room temperature? If it's 80+, you are going to get a big fan spinup from any DC client that maxes out the CPU.

Which reminds me, they ARE like a 'vacume' cleaner, with the open grid front. You could open up the case and check it for dust. Only clean with an AirDuster and only when it is cooled down. I run mine with a cover of fine mesh hosiery hooked over the handles Great dust filter and lets in the air.
