Hi,
One of my computers has been returning errors all day today. Machine is a Mac Mini G4 1.42ghz, 1Mg Ram, OS 10.4.9. Running the latest Boinc client with Alex Optimized client ppc 7.1 client. I have two other older machines running the same boinc config, with no problems. I have detached from projects and uninstalled the whole thing. Planning on reinstalling in the morning. But was wondering if maybe I did something wrong.

Here's the error its returning

Server state Over
Outcome Client error
Client state Compute error
Exit status -185 (0xffffff47)
Computer ID 3305526
Report deadline 16 May 2007 14:21:40 UTC
CPU time 0
stderr out

<core_client_version>5.8.17</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
Can't link input file
</message>
]]>

Validate state Invalid

Can someone please illuminate! I've just returned to boinc after a long hiatus, and would like to get this machine going as it used to do quite nicely, before the break.

TIA,
Nora

ERR_RESULT_START -185

This is an error that will occur when:
- if BOINC couldn't start the application
- if files are missing
- catch other error returns
- on nonzero exit or signal
- if exceeded resource limit
- catch-all for resume/start errors

Thanks. Seems to be I had installed the optimized client all wrong. Permissions were off whack.

Reinstalled everything, hope it works.
