On my Ti Book 667 MHz I crunched one WU in 10 hrs 53 mins. but on my PowerMac G4 500 MHz (B&W upgraded via Sonnet Encore) one WU took just over 23 hrs. Perhaps the fact that I had Classic running in the background for printer sharing had something to do with the slow pace. All other settings like screen saver activation and SETI prefs are the same. Could this Classic thing be the culprit?

Classic takes a big chunk of proccessor power. Go to your utilitys folder in applications in mac os x and find the process viewer app. You can see how much cpu that classic actually takes p form there. know on my g4 533 it was taking almost 25% just sitting there.

Yikes! What a cpu hog!! Now that I've shut down Classic it looks like my speed has picked up dramatically. When I crunch a full WU I'll have a better idea how the upgraded Yosemite stacks up against the Ti 667.
