SUM for caching WU's is OS 9 only. Is there something like this for OS X? Perhaps I should use the MacNN Proxy to ensure plentiful WU's.

I was wondering the same thing. I was looking for an OS X compatible cache program the other day, but I could not find anything. I found a Windows based program called SetiQueue thats acts like a proxy. Installed it onto my Wintel box, but OS X didn't like it. Would not connect at all.

Don't bother installing SETIQ. It's not fun to setup.
Besides, the team has one for use, it's located at seti.macnn.com:5517

No, there are no caching apps for OSX.
I'm sure that one could be written relatively easily though.

For WU buffering, use the team proxy. It handles caching for all users.

Manual caching anyone? Not as fast or automatic, but it would work.
If you put a bullseye on yourself, don't be surprised when someone takes a shot at you.
