Tried the speed adjustments posted for Ubero agent and saw yesterday's assignments double. I also started running the agent from the CLI instead of the GUI thanks again to this forum. Running OS X.1.2 on a G4 MP 450 with 768mb RAM. Also running RC5 as well. Just need to figure out how to run two agents to take advantage of both processors.

Many thanks,

Denis

Probably will get combined with the other posts about the same subject, but the trick is to install two (2) instances of the Ubero agent.

Name the folders something like Ubero.1 and Ubero.2 and run the command line on each of the 2 agents. If you want to track the agents separately, be sure to name them differently!

Cheers.

I have DP and I only have one copy of Ubero installed. I just start up two terminal windows and load the same program in each, works great.

That's a bad thing. Apparently running 2 copies under the same username screws up some stuff on the server side. Please run 2 copies with different names.

I installed the IBM JDK on my linuxbox instead of the Sun one, and I'm going almost twice as fast!!
All PC users really need to do that tweak.

I happen to have my PC running Ubero, so where do it get the IBM JDK for Windows. Although I have Mandrake running on my PC, it isn't running full time.

I can report similar results by simply switching over to the IBM JDK on my PC. Without any other changes in configuration except for installing the new JDK and running it on command line, I've almost doubled output.

Now if we could only hide the bloody command prompt window!!!

Cheers.

Shouldn't all these speed tips be added to the "Optimizations" page on the team.macnn.com Ubero site? There are bound to be team members who don't participate in the forums.

I am working on it slowly between school work and real life. Maybe by the end of the month.

It would be great for this stuff to be added because I can't seem to find it all.. I found the memory tweaks but feel like I"m missing out on some other stuff...

Thanks,
