I was looking at the ARS Beef Roast site.. and they had some news items talking about swapping P4's for G4's because the G4 was so good at RC5

That's right, bi-atch.

Well I guess they are smart enough to see the truth when it has been staring them in the face long enough. At RC-5, G-4 Macs Rule. (hmm!! I wonder if Steve would loan me a couple of prototype G5''s)

Amiga (remember them?) is releasing a ATX form factor PowerPC logic board.
It's pricey, and I don't know what availability will be, but it will still be much cheaper than buying a Mac. A LOT cheaper.

It will have soldered cpu, G3 or G4.

Linux already runs on the board (in fact they used linux to debug the hardware) and I imagine Darwin will be on it pretty quickly.

Once Darwin is on it- that means we can build our ppc boxes for things that ppc is good at (like RC5).
Don't take candy from strangers

Long live the Amiga! I went straight from Amiga to Mac in 1993 when things went south. It was a great machine.

There's some info at www.amiga.com
