There is a new java update out from apple.
I'm betting that it will improve speed a little bit.

Can someone give some before/after tests of the client?

I've installed it. What exactly is different about this new one?

<edit> I can tell you what my output is after it goes for a 24-hour unit in California time. <edit>

One change is that you can now use the -server option instead of the memory tweak. you should get about the ame performance from each. Let me know if it is any different. The main point of this update is bug fixes. Some of these include WORKING support for hardware graphics acceleration (must be coded into app or flagged at the command line) and stability improvements.

someone said in another thread that the memory tweak is sill faster although i haven't tested it myself... the -server option should be equal to using 128 mb in the memory tweak.

I'm curious as to whether the speed is improved with the memory tweak being the same.
